Ways to find a rental in New Orleans:
Craigslist
Drive around and look for signs

Are there any other methods you would recommend? Any other websites to look?

Thanks.

What about the Newspaper? The Picayune or any weekly rags with a classified?

Word of mouth can be a good one too.

www.nola.com classifieds. Free version of the newspaper's classifieds. Saturday is the day that the paper has its own real estate section.

I find that Craigslist is less and less reliable, because of all the scams that have been going on in Real Estate (I'm a R.E. agent and I've personally had some problems with it).
Trulia.com is pretty good, it is very user friendly, has pictures and maps for each listing. Trulia also gives you details and comparisons of the different areas of a city (pretty useful).
Nola.com in the classifieds is good too.
If you have the time, my best advice would be to drive around. Not only you see signs and get a feel for the neighborhood, but you can also ask people living there what are the pros and cons of living in their neighborhood. That always end up being the best source of information!
I hope it helps.
