I am a 24 year old single male. I'm a recent college graduate and I may be taking a position in New Orleans.

I have never been to New Orleans; however, I am not concerned with relocating from Texas. My position will require travel all along the south spanning from Houston to Biloxi, therefore I am not concerned with being "close to work". Any area in NOLA would suffice to live in. I'd prefer to live in NOLA proper, and I would really enjoy a vibrant scene. Any suggestions?

Downtown? Uptown? what's the city like? Where should I live? What should I stay away from? Thanks, any help is welcome.

Could you be a little more specific in terms of what you want your neighborhood to be like? Things like how much you're willing to pay, what amenities do you need, etc.

I'd like for the neighborhood to be fairly young. I don't have too many necessities, but I would like to be close to nightlife and restaurants. I am looking at $1000 a month for rent. From everything I've seen... that price looks possible.

Be careful what part of Uptown you decide to settle in. The city is very different from block to block. How many bedrooms do you need?

New Orleans is one of the most integrated cities in America. Besides known crime hotspots, you can live and let your hair down with out a problem every where else.
