New Orleans is not on the brink of death, but, let's be honest, it isn't going to explode either. With the threat of hurricanes, it is unlikely that numerous businesses would throw a large amount of money on a new headquarters in New Orleans. Notice how I said numerous businesses. I'm not saying that no businesses will be moving a regional HQ to New Orleans. There definitely will be some moving there. BUT you are foolish if you think New Orleans will be a playground for the wealthy or some huge revamped city that is larger in population than before population started dropping in the late 70s.

Do you think locals really care about that? Heck no. All the locals care about is family, tradition, faith, and good times. They are NOT the types that care if their city becomes like a New York, Atlanta, or Chicago. Instead, preservation and tradition are more important. This is a mixed blessing that makes New Orleans a very historic and culturally unique place, but also a place that is less likely to experience any large influx of growth. But who really cares? If you like New Orleans and can make a good living there, move there. Otherwise, go live somewhere else.

I wouldn't really say all the locals care about is family, tradtion, faith and good times. While that can be true of a lot of people, there are plenty of people in this city working very hard to make New Orleans on the up and up.
