We are going to Baton Rouge as of Thursday for a teaching conference and have decided we'd also like to visit New Orleans and stay there on the night of Bastille day (Saturday). I've tried and found very little info on what NO has as far as celebration of the holiday is concerned. Would love any info anyone can give, advice on what to see/do that night (arriving around 6 or 7pm) and where to stay that would be safe (we're a young couple, 29/33). Interested in local places, not chains (other than the hotel). Thanks in advance!
