I am considering moving down to New Orleans once I graduate in May to pursue a career in the film industry. New Orleans has recently been dubbed "Hollywood South" and I was just wondering if any of you, or anyone you may know, work in this emerging field? If so, can you provide any insight on the workings of the NOLA film business. Thanks, much appreciated.

I know a few extras but I think you could get better info if you visit this web page and email someone. Home : New Orleans Office of Film & Video (http://www.filmneworleans.org/site.php - broken link)

I moved down to Baton Rouge recently to work on a film there. The Louisiana film industry is VERY busy right now and most of the activity is in New Orleans, Shreveport, and Baton Rouge.

I think it's a great time to move there as the industry is thriving right now, and the local crew base is still pretty small so there's a good chance to advance farther and quicker there than NYC or Los Angeles.

There is a radio talk show host on WWL by the name of John Spud McConnell. He was many acting gigs and he would be a great source of information. His email is spud@wwl.com

Have a blessed day.
