Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

I was just wondering if any insiders had recommendations on what to do/expect on New Year's Eve. Thanks!! I am one of about 20 people coming over from Jacksonville so I'm sure we won't have any trouble - umm - getting into trouble, but any thoughts or advice is appreciated.

Really? No recommendations? It's all good though, I highly doubt we'll have any trouble finding the place to be.

If you're just planning on staying around the French Quarter, then that's really all you need. Go with the flow will be the name of the game because it will be shoulder to shoulder crowds. If you're on Bourbon St, you'll literally just have to go where the crowd pushes you. The fleur de lis drop, countdown, live music, and fireworks are by Jax Brewery on the river. Don't wait till near midnight to head that way if you're going there. Crowds will start to form by 9 or earlier.

With 20 people, it's difficult to give specifics. At this point in the game, restaurants have been booked with large parties for months. I normally do a private party because I hate the crowd, but both of my recommendations have been full for a month also. There really is no "place to be." It's not like New York where you want to just be in Times Square. The party will be everywhere. Just walk around and you'll find something.
