I have been looking online at some of the Mandeville neighborhoods and just wanted to get some updates. I have been looking in the Woodlands and Beau Chene area and have even seen a couple of threads on this forum. Only problem is they are a couple of years old. Any updates to these areas? Do either one of them have problems with foreclosures, short sales? Can you rent in these areas? Might be moving in the next couple of months and wanted to see where these areas currently stand. I will be coming from Florida and just not sure I want to buy until I am completely sure we will be there. Thank you.

there are foreclosures here and there, but I don't think it's as bad as FL and you couldn't single out any particular neighborhood as better or worse.
as far as updates, basically everything in Mandeville except the older part of town is a suburban possibly gated community type that differ only in styles and prices and how much you have to pay per month for the security gate or garbage pickup. you gotta go by what you like, can afford, and flood zones, and proximity to the causeway, of course if you'll be a commuter

there are plenty of rentals, I think
good luck

I LOVE Mandeville!!! I moved from there in 05 to Louisville and I can not stand Louisville! I would move back to Mandeville in a heart beat if there were good sustaining jobs in the GNA.

I lived in Green Leaves and loved it. All of the north shore is a awesome place and there are a lot of choices. Moderator cut: not allowed, read TOS
Good luck and yes I AM ENVIOUS!!!
