Greetings!

Does anyone know if the Sweet Lorraine's Jazz Club on St. Claude is still open? I attempted to check out their April calendar (I'll be there for the FQ Festival), and it's "current" posting is for January.

Uh-oh, please say it isn't so?

Thanks.

Did you find out if the club is still open? I also checked their site today & the January calendar has me stumped! I will be in the city next week & would love to go there again.

Yes, it is still open. I ended up just calling, and she said that they simply haven't kept up with the online calendar. We just spent 2 wks there, and never did make it to Sweet's (next time, perhaps). But you will get to enjoy it again.

Sweet Lorraine's is open and probably the best kept secret in New Orleans for great food and great music. Forget Bourbon Street - anthem rock, drunk people and random nudity has its place, but for true N'Orleans jazz and cuisine, head over here. Worth the cab ride. Was just there Thursday night 09/15/11 and saw Chucky C with his band Clear Blue and a few surprise performers from the audience. Don't let the outside fool you, inside is a classy nightclub with great acoustics and a welcoming feel. I have never seen musicians like this and the food was better than those fancy places that cost a fortune. Don't leave the city without stopping in - you won't be disappointed.

Oh, thank you so much! I wish their website was kept up, but next time we'll just pop in there and see what we get for entertainment. Sounds like we can't go wrong. We're going back again next October ('12) for the blues festival, so we shall check out Lorraine's.

Okay, so I'm going to ~ hopefully ~ revitalize this thread that I started last year.

So Sweet Lorraine's closed due to Hurricane Isaac damage. Their website states that they were closed for September, but it hasn't been updated. I suppose I could call, but first does anyone know, or heard of, anything about this place?

Thanks!
