Planning on moving to Marigny/Bywater in April. Closest school is a Kipp school in the FQ. I've heard that Morris Jeff is a good school and it sends a school bus to the neighborhood. Others Ive heard were good were New orleans Montessori, Lusher, Audubon and International School. Anyone have other suggestions that might be a good fit for us?

Also curious to hear about how successful any parents out there have been in getting their kids placed in the school of their choice. Thanks

Lusher, Audubon and International School ,you have mention accepting student thru lottery. Our family planing to move to NO as well. We are in houston where the schools in my area is at 10 point from greatschools.org So if I could get my child to one of a prefered school we would move if not, then I rather stay right where I am.

All we can be is hopeful that it will all work out. We've always had good luck in the past. Anyone out there have bad luck getting your kids into a good school?

Tough call given the number of charter schools in development; the city is an ongoing experiment. I would bank on Lusher, Ben Franklin, International is good (depends which one - IHSNOLA is new and probably in transition). Many people still have to pay, sadly. pm me if you like - used to teach there.
