Don't deny that this is a horrible place for children to grow up, also. It's flat and bland. There's nothing cheap and free for kids to do here. I do want help. I want help to get to Colorado so I can enjoy my life and raise my kids in a decent environment without all the thugs running around.
And I guess that's why people fled back to the city they love right?

Stop blaming your life on a geographic area. New Orleans is bland?!!!!

I will be moving to the city soon, I'll let you know if I'm crawling to get out..

hey thanks for your response, I appreciate your outlook. I'm not as much interested in making a lot of money as I am in promoting myself as an artist and beginning to establish my name. I'm still young and don't plan to have a family anytime soon, so a waitressing job would even be fine for me in the meantime. That's what I was asking about the economy, if I could even find a job like that easily... because in Portland even those jobs are in high competition.

You are going to have to live in a dump to be able to pay rent on that kind of job. Most of even the expensive apartments are in buildings that should have been demolished long ago, or at least after Katrina, but they can't get rid of them because they are "historic". If you like leaning houses with no insulation and crappy heating and air conditioning, come on down! You're the perfect victim for the scam known as New Orleans. Be prepared to pay $1200 a month if you want any appliances and no cockroaches.

Not even close. It sounds like you are angry at something else and still have some personal issues to work through.

Hope your children don't grow up to be like you.
