I am looking for recommendations of a storage facility near uptown. We are boxing up 50 years of living to unclutter our house to better show it for sale. I head there is a place on Tchoupitoulas Street but dont know.

Sid, there is a place on Tchoupitoulas, near the Winn-Dixie. The one I would recommend is at Earhart and Washington; it's a much more modern, purpose-built storage facility. I had a bad experience at the one on Tchoupitoulas.

I would add only to check that it is somewhat above the surrounding area in case of heavy rains.

The storage unit on Earhardt may be high and dry but that area in the past has been flood prone. Maybe since Katrina things have changed but it is built on the edge of a major drainage canal in New Orleans that could overtop. Yikes.
