My niece has recently moved to Slidell from Virginia and of course she hates it. She misses her friends and compares everything to Virginia. Of course everything in Virginia is better.
You know how teens are.
Anyways, I'm not really familiar with Slidell and could use some help. She is home schooled so there hasn't been a whole lot of interaction with other kids her own age. Anyone got any ideas or suggestions on what we can do to put this kid in with a group of her own peers so that she can make a friend?
Oh and does anyone know a neighborhood to take the kids to for trick or treating? They currently are staying with my elderly mother, (until they can find a place of their own), and there isn't any trick or treating to speak of in her neighborhood.

When my grandkids were in Metairie, trunk-or-treat at churches was the big thing. Does the family have a church they can inquire about?

There's a trunk-or-treat at a nearby church on Saturday night, (or was it Sun.?) Either way, Miss Priss stuck her nose in the air and said it wasn't the same. Glad my kid is cooked. Honestly she's a good kid who is having a hard time with the move, divorce and Dad being so far away, (another country). Honestly I'm hoping to find a neighborhood where everyone is simply gaga over Halloween and the houses are decorated within an inch of their little house lives and there are kids running all over the place with bags full of candy. Lol, perhaps I'm hoping for too much?

Also, on a more intuitive note, neighborhoods with a lot of young families (i.e. lots of cookie-cutter suburbia) make a bigger deal out of Halloween than neighborhoods with a lot of singles or elderly.

Ohhh my weak spot, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!
Lol the only problem is that I don't know where the nicer neighborhoods are in Slidell. Now on the Southshore, I wouldn't have a problem, I know where the shee shee pooh pooh neighborhoods are, but the Northshore is like another country to me.

1. Lakeshore, just to the right after the bridge, is probably the wealthiest neighborhood in Slidell.

Lol the only problem is that I don't know where the nicer neighborhoods are in Slidell. Now on the Southshore, I wouldn't have a problem, I know where the shee shee pooh pooh neighborhoods are, but the Northshore is like another country to me.
Why didn't I think of that? I feel so, well, low IQ.
