Hi,

DH and I will be in NO November 23, 24, and 25, leaving on a cruise the morning of November 26. We are doing the Thanksgiving brunch at Court of Two Sisters on Thanksgiving Day. What are some other good places to go eat while we are there...some "must go to" places. I am sort of a carnivore, so lots of meat is preferred. Also, middle of the road as far as price is concerned.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Great question and welcome to New Orleans. You are coming to the greatest city for food in the world. Check out this website:

www.nomenu.com

The owner of the website has his own talk show from 3-6 everyday on ESPN radio here. What other place can talk specifically about food for 3 hours on the radio everyday?

Have a blessed trip!

I always make a point to recommend Deannie's Seafood in Bucktown (Metairie). Get the half platter and split it between the two of you. You'll leave full of seafood for $25 plus whatever you spend on drinks.

There is also a location in the French Quarter, but I find its worth the drive (or cab fare) to Bucktown.

Mandina's, Napoleon House, Green Goddess, Tommy's, LaBoca, Muriel's - some of our favorite places.

Excellent recommendations above, especially Mandina's. You may also want to check 'lil Dizzy's cafe. I try to make it a point to go there (The Treme location) when I visit home. Great food in an unpretentious atmosphere.

Oops my bad. I've heard not so good reviews lately. Last time I went it was wonderful, as always. I'll try to remember not to recommend it.

Mandinas and Deannie's are not that good. You need to go to where the locals go
