HI,
I just moved to the New Orleans area about 8 months ago and my dog has been having some issues. She was very itchy all the time and I brought her to a vet they said it was allergies. Upon examination they also noticed she had growth in her mouth. She is a 4year old boxer who had always been in good health until now. They said she needs surgery but that its a condition that could keep reoccuring which would mean she would keep needing surgery. I am very concerned and wanted to know if anyone has experience with this or has a recommendation for a Vet locally or even not so locally. I just want to go to the best Vet. One that knows Boxers or who is particularly good with oral surgery etc.
Thank you!!

When I lived there I used Metairie Small Animal Hosp on Metairie Rd just over the parish line. I used them for 20+ yrs. Don't know about Boxers specifically but they did several surgeries on various animals and I was happy with them.

Maybe you can find a Boxer rescue group and ask for recommendations. I know that breed has breathing issues.

I don't have a boxer, but my dog was saved by the docs at Southeast Veterinary Specialists in Metairie. Our regular vet sent us directly there when they knew what was wrong was beyond their expertise and needed a specialist. They also have a 24/7 emergency department and critical care unit. I was impressed with how much like a human hospital it is - only 3 years old and a very modern building.
