Cochon would be my first choice for Cajun, although I have a preference for one of Chef Link's other restaurant, Herbsaint.

Anyone been to Mulates? We've been once but I don't remember if the food was good or authentic. The reason for this is that we were enjoying the Cajun band and DH insisted on going up to to them and asking what they thought of the portrayal of Cajuns in 'Southern Comfort'.

We haven't been back since but maybe enough time has passed.

If you head west to Acadiana I will let you know where to eat out there.

Last time I came back to Louisiana from Puerto Rico I just ate ethnic food in New Orleans (there really is such good variety there...Thai, Vietnamese, Middle Eastern, Honduran, (real) Mexican, Korean, etc. and I saved all my Louisiana favorites for the Lafayette area. If that tells you anything.
Yep....Coop's is awesome!!!

Music there is better than the food.

Come on dude, I've been there before, fast and convieniant. When you go to a place like that just get a shrimp po boy and fries and be done with it.
Acme oyster house is good, brennans and court of two sisters.
