Hi everyone,

My family includes our child and husband and myself. We are considering moving back to the area this summer after 4 Long years in Broward County..in South Florida.
We have lived in Metairie, New Orleans and the Westbank. Our focus this time is for the best middle and High schools for our daughter, SO we are thinking of Mandeville or Covington but aren't sure. We also both need to secure jobs in the Metro area.

Can any one give advice on Northshore living such as best areas and any overcrowding? We would be renting first with a budget of approximately 1000 per month for a house.

Any insight and advice is appreciated!

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm not finding much nice housing in the $1000 range. Seems to be $1300-$1600 for something nice. The schools do seem to be good, with Covington being the lone exception, from what I've researched. I haven't been able to obtain any good info on utility costs, homeowners insurance costs, etc. Good luck, the Northshore is nice.

Overcrowding on the northshore?

If it's too crowded up there, you might consider Wyoming.
