I'm looking to move to NOLA sometime this year...hoping for late summer. I read some of the older threads about moms moving to town but I'm looking for new opinions. My son is 3 and has family in Lafourche but I'm not interested in being near them. I'm a city girl from the Baltimore area. I own my a business and will eventually get it up and running there. I also run an online store that can be done from anywhere so work isn't an issue for me. I'm thinking I may want to take a few classes at Delgado CC for a semester or two then maybe Loyola. I've visited but I'm not too familiar with the city but will be down for a visit next month. While I don't want to be raped or mugged crime doesn't scare me as I'm from West Baltimore. I've heard Broadmoor and Mid-City mentioned as far as neighborhoods go. I would love to live in an area where I can walk to various places. Somewhere kid and pet friendly but I also don't want to be too far from nightlife because I plan on letting my hair down when my son is away on weekends. I would love some recommendations for laid back non denominational churches with a mixed race, preschools, gyms and/or community centers with a fitness center. Thanks in advance for you opinions and suggestions.
