The title already gives off most of my question, but I will be visiting New Orleans for the first time in a few weeks. I'll be in town for a little more than two days at a hotel in the French Quarter. My counterparts and I will probably go out for one night, and I'm wondering if anyone has any decent suggestions of locations, their typical genres, and the types of crowds that often visit.

Astericks* is a dance club with a mix of peoples, types of music and patrons vary as the themes change.

For some reason, it's not coming up in the searches. Oh well. I'm sure other responses will come.

Oops, that's the one in Hammond. Ampersand is what I had in mind.

Here's a list of dance clubs:

I'm really amazed at how lacking the underaged nightlife is. I only had one night and basically went up and down Bourbon St., which isn't really worth much. Much better at 21+, and even then it seems limited. People seem more concerned about getting drunk than anything else.

New Orleans is not really a club scene.

Thankfully so, too

But Bourbon is not where you'd find under 21 dance clubs.
