I've been reading through here and just wanted to get some advice. I'm a single woman with a toddler moving from the west coast. I am looking for a 2 bd for $1000/mo. I know Lakeview is safe but hard to find much there. I'm a tad familiar with mid city around Finns. I have seen many places in my price range there. Is that a decent area for us? I'd hate to end up in Metairie but if we have to we will. I'm pretty sure uptown is out of our range. I've seen the Broadmoor area talked about but am not at all familiar with it.

So suggestions on the areas? TIA

Anywhere between Finns and City Park Ave wold be decent.

Broadmoor between Napolean and Nashville is a very safe area, but not as walkable and Mid-City or Uptown.

How important is walkability and transit? Will you have a car?

Walk ability not an issue. I have a car and plan on having to drive so transit isn't an issue either. Also I work from home so I don't have a commute to worry about. Thanks for the info on Broadmoor. I will expand my search!

Yeah, definitely look into Broadmoor. It's 10 minutes away from everything.

Check out between Fontainbleau and Claiborne from Broadway down to Napolean. Just on the other side of Fontainbleau is ok too.
