Hi
We are planning to move from Ohio to NOLA.I am looking for magnet schools in Metairie since one of mine is already in gifted program.Since we lived in suburbs all these years,I am looking for a safe and quiet neighborhood.Since I have 4 kids I am looking for 3 BR apt.(Do they rent it for a family that big?)If I want to rent a house,Is it easy to get one in that area?
Please suggest some neighborhoods for apts or house in Jefferson Parish.
I'm not sure whether they accept kids in the middle of the school year.So for the rest of this year I am looking for affordable private schools too.Thank you in advance for all your suggestions.

Metairie Academy goes to 5th grade I believe and then there is a middle magnet but no high school magnet.

The only private ones I know are very expensive, St. Martin's Episcopal (K-12) and Metairie Park Country Day (K-12). However both schools offer scholarships.

The Catholic schools are a popular choice but first admission goes to kids who live in the parish. I don't know anything about the other ones. Sorry.

There are a couple of very good middle and high schools in Metairie. After Metairie Academy children go to Haynes Academy OR Patrick Taylor. Both are top schools in terms of education, discipline and overall growth of the child.

The children have to go through a written test to get admission.
