Hi all!

I'm looking to move around March (definitely down there by July, depending on jobs). I have two dogs, so I'd like somewhere with at least a small courtyard or green space. Area: Mid-City or uptown would be best. I will probably have 1-2 roommates, but might do a studio if that doesn't work out. Looking to keep rent between 500-680ish per person.

Is there a best time or month (i.e. grad students moving out) to look for a place?

Looking for some guidance and ya'll are always so helpful.

Thanks!

Places turn over in June due to student comings and goings. I moved in April and found the market a little tight until the end of May. Then there was a lot of competition for the "good" places. But it really depends on the neighborhoods.

Definately start looking well in advance of your move date. I stood in LINE last June to view a 1 bedroom for 1000.00 a month in the uptown area. Yep, I arrived at my scheduled time and couldn't believe there was a line!! However I did find a better deal on a 2 bedroom condo by asking around. I found out from neighbors that someone was moving out the next month so i contacted him and he gave me his landlords info. so I was able to secure the place before it hit the market. Its good to have a local contact. Keep in touch and I may be able to help you out when your ready to look. Okay.I love NOLA!
