So here's a challenge for you foodies:
A friend and I are visiting for Jazz Fest. She is extremely allergic to bell peppers. I am extremely sensitive to hot spices (including black pepper and cilantro). Both of us TRY to be health-conscious eaters, so beignets for every meal is really not an option.
Suggestions?

grilled fish or chicken are always available as is seafood which is healthy unless fried! you could try oysters, steamed shrimp, grilled chicken sandwiches. There are some milder spices in the food, too. It isn't all hot! I would recommend going to Jacquimos on Oak street and trying some of their authentic foods! I went and didn't have anything too spicy. Also, you're on vacation and in order to experience New Orleans you should try to just ditch the diet for a couple of days and enjoy yourselves! A few days of indulgence won't kill you But the booze will, LOL!!!
