I am moving to New Orleans this summer for a new job and I've never been to the area before. Does anyone have any advice on a good neighborhood to live in? My ideal place is near the French quarter, within walking distance to lots of places, and near young people in their 20s. Thanks!

Price range? House, apartment, high rise? You can live in the Quarter itself, or in the CBD, Warehouse District, Marigny, or the Bywater.

I would try the Bywater. Going downriver, it's FQ->Marigny->Bywater. That's also the order of the prices, generally speaking; the Bywater has been called the Williamsburg of the South... lots of hipsters/20-somethings.
