Hello! I need some opinions on what is the best apartment complex for my boyfriend and I and our situation! I have done *some* research but I would like some more input! We would like a 1 or 2 bedroom and must be 1000$ or under. We also have a dog that weighs about 50 lbs so we would like to be near someplace that we could walk her or be near a park. We want to live within the city limits but we don't need to be right next door to the french quarter or streetcar line or anything like that. So, what do you guys recommend? We are going to start looking at apartments if we can't find a house that fits our specifics! Thanks!!

Well if you want to be within city limits then you don't want to be looking for apartment complexes. New Orleans proper doesn't have that many. You'd be better off driving around neighborhoods you like and looking for "for rent" signs, or looking in the classifieds (not Cragislist...it's fine, but I always found better deals elsewhere from independent landlords).

My wife and I are moving back home this October and this past Tuesday we toured Columbia Parc Apartments in the Gentilly Terrace area. This property is gorgeous and its in the city...not so nice surroundings though
