I have submitted a question about it to Amtrak but they haven't answered it yet. In their description of their long-term parking there, they refer to "long-term" as overnight. I need to leave my car for a week. I was wondering if this is not only feasible in their long-term lot but is it safe? Are there other long-term lots in the vicinity?

No, I emailed them, if I don't get a response by tomorrow night then I will call them Monday morning. I just hoped maybe some New Orleans folks here would have some information on this, which is preferable - Amtrak personnel aren't going to say anything negative about the safety of the station!

Well all stations are safe , parking is a different story. Its often out of Amtrak's hands , usually owned by the city or county.
