If you watch American Horror Story, you may or may not know that Kathy Bates' wicked character is based on a New Orleans original: Madame Delphine LaLaurie.

Read more here and see the house on Royal street where it all went down:

the whole thing is based in New Orleans!!!!

and yes I am soo happy they included some "real" history! I started watching the series last season and when I found out coven was going to be filmed in good old NOLA I was thrilled! What a better city than NOLA for an American Horror Story?!

I just wish it was longer than just an hour!

I've been on two different Haunted History tours and we went by the LaLaurie house. They don't use the real house in the scenes.

During the carriage ride we also went by the house and Howie (a former NOPD and UNO history professor) says the stories are blown way out of proportion.

Yeah I love NOLA..I normally do no take the groups tours in cities, but the NOLA haunted tours were well worth it. Very good time was had and our guide was excellent with his history.

American Horror Story sucks. I liked the first season then it just took a turn for the passe.
