Anyone find it hard to drive on the streets of new orleans? (2013, university)

I figured out that the 4 billion figure (more specifically 3.8 billion) for Philly is the operating budget. New Orleans' operating budget is 837 million which makes more sense population wise. The 504 million is New Orleans' general fund budget. But I still think costs of living and wages has an effect as well.

I find driving in NOLA and surrounding areas to be difficult due to the traffic. It's everywhere. It's what happens when a large population lives on a relatively small area. Just traveling a few miles can take a long time due to the traffic.

B.R.'s traffic is bad...but new orleans's is worse....colcat is right...going every direction east to slidell north to mandeville south to the westbank and west toward laplace is rough most days

Baton Rouge is #13, while New Orleans is #27.

I think it's fairly common knowledge that Baton Rouge traffic is worse than New Orleans. At least you can' easily maneuver around the southshore, can't do that in Baton Rouge nearly as easy, soon that area will probably be incorporated as St. George, and Baton Rouge traffic will be much better but the areas traffic will only get worse.

On that list it also says that the hours in traffic in the week for B.R. are 19 ...New Orleans 38...overall traffic in N.O. is worse from what I'm reading

Getting around within the city (east bank) is easy even during rush hours. The street grid is dense and well connected so there are dozens of different routes one can take to get anywhere.

It's only those commuting in from the far flung reaches of the NO East, Algiers and the suburbs beyond who encounter rough traffic. There's only so many routes into and out of the city.

Baton Rouge traffic is bad on Sundays at 5am, it's because of the way our road network is built.

Traffic here is bad everywhere, in the city proper it's much easier to get around, yet suburban Baton Rouge, where most live, is absolutely terrible. We lack any connectivity here.

Yep. I'm still trying to figure out which is worst during after-school traffic coming from the Westbank, the connector or the Huey P Long...
