I am going to buy a new car, and I know that New Orleans has some pretty bad streets. What compact to mid size SUV's would be best?

Also, what cars have the best interiors (I want one that will hold up to children).

Thanks

This feels like deja vu....

Interiors? What kind of damage do you think your kids plan on doing? My advice, try to limit food in the car and keep a plastic bag in the back in case of muddy shoes.

Mazda CX-5's are supposed to be awesome. I read Car and Driver religiously and they love that car. Maybe make sure you have rubber floor mats?

We might need a merge.

Seems we have initiated the same question - we'll probably end up with the same car.
I saw the Mazda CX-5 reviews and they seemed pretty good. So far I am leaning that way. Of course, this is without any personal experience with NO road conditions except one week in 2003 drving from Poydras street to the North shore and back on a daily basis in a rental.
