I live fairly close to the newer DMV on Veterans, but the few times I've had to go in there, it's been an absolute madhouse with absurdly long waiting times. Are there any other locations in the metro area that are generally less packed or that move people through more efficiently? I'm buying a car out of state this weekend and need to register it here; I've taken off work next Wednesday morning to do so, but I need to be in to work by 11 at the latest and don't want to risk having to take another day off in the case that I don't get seen in time.

I've never been to the DMV early in the morning, so I don't know if that location is as busy at 8-9 AM as it is later in the day.

You don't have to go to the DMV to register your car. Any title shop can do that.

Really? Do they all change the same rate (city sales tax + state sales tax - the reciprocity rate of the state the car is coming from)?

Yes they charge the same rate, but add a fee for there services, not that bad, but forget what it is, 10/20 dollars if my memory serves me rite, well worth it.
