So after talking about it for two years, we've finally pulled the trigger on buying a house. We talked to a real estate agent today. According to the agent and the internet, we need a pre-approval for a mortgage first which is fine. She gave us a list of FHA lenders in the area to get pre-approval. While this is fine, the very first one on the top of the page has the same last name as she does so hmm... do you think she's a little biased? I'm betting the person is family.

I checked the FHA website and there are literally dozens of lenders. I've tried googling them and none of them seem to have reviews online. Very frustrating when trying to decide who to go with because I really don't want someone that's going to cause us problems.

I've also been seeing alot about Quickenloans and they seem to have fairly decent reviews online. But I don't want to go with them just because they seem to be the only ones with reviews. I even tried Angie's List and I'm not sure how much I should trust what's said since some of what came up seems to be for General Contractors not Mortgage lenders.

So I thought I'd ask your opinions on here. I've tried yahoo answers and haven't received a reply. Who would you recommend?

Thanks.

- Oh incidentally, we will be talking to another Real Estate agent probably next week. I don't like the idea that this one is trying to peddle her family to clients.
