My partner and I were in NOLA this past week and on Thursday night we were walking around looking for somewhere to have dinner. On the corner of St. Louis and Royal there was a group of musicians performing. Among them was a male violinist that was so amazing we could not stop listening for at least an hour. We even got a balcony table at the restaurant across the street so we could hear while we ate. I have heard that these people play individually at this spot on a regular basis. We have looked online for the violinist to see if we could find anything on YouTube but with no luck. We found clips of the female violinist playing with one of the guitarists, but nothing on the man. Does anyone know who he is? I've never seen anyone play an instrument with as much passion and skill, and I would love to see more.

The only violinist I know here in town is named Donald, forget his last name- might be Surtain. He's a young black guy who wears glasses. Hope that helps.
