I'd suggest living uptown, too. With your budget, you should be able to find something very nice.

I'm in medical school and I highly recommend the cbd around Julia street. It's pricey but much much safer. Also, you will not have to worry about monster flying coaches as much if you get a nice high rise condo complex. I've lived uptown and while it is nice it wasn't ideal for me and much prefer my current location. PM if you need advice.

That's one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the city.
