OMG! This is the same dude who came onto the Portland forum last year blasting all the "wealthy" people of Portland who wouldn't give him handouts and told him he couldn't live in the woods because it was too dangerous. He blasted all of those who had jobs and worked and wore suits and so forth and then proclaimed he would make money selling bootlegged DVD's.

Now he turns up in your city complaining about the weather?

And BTW, once things got too intense for him on the PDX forum, he reinvented himself using several different user names before he was kicked off. New Orleans is a great city, don't be fooled by this.

Yeah, a friend just pointed out how his thread got shut down on the San Francisco forum as well. Some pseudynoms he has used: "homeless advocate", "professorjpj", "professorjpj1" and "professorjpj2" and "animal lover."

Homelessness is a serious situation that many find themselves in through unfortunate circumstances but anyone who wants to make a career out of it by deliberately mooching off others and then berating them when they refuse to comply gets no sympathy from me.

Well good then, we don't need you. There are more than enough homeless people to pester us walking down the street every day. Can't walk a block down St Charles without being bothered at least once. Get a job, no one should have to take care of you. Let the door hit you on the way out.

They're runnin' em out from under the overpasses.

Homeless people camping below the Pontchartrain Expressway have been directed to clear out by Thursday evening.

They've been notified that the city's health department has declared the area beneath the expressway from Claiborne Avenue to St. Charles Avenue "a public health hazard."

The homeless were given 72 hours notice on Monday to remove their personal property and leave so that the area can be cleaned.

In a notice to those camping beneath the expressway the city says shelter beds are available in the city and that two bags of personal belongings will be accommodated at the shelters.

There have been complaints about criminal activity and substance abuse.

Hostility? How is that hostile? There is human waste (not just garbage) all over the place, and there are at least two people standing on every corner under the Pontchartrain Expressway bridge. Heck, I once saw a guy stand right in the middle of the road and hold up his hand forcing all traffic to stop and demand money by starting to point at all the cars individually. It was effectively a form of robbery. Something needs to be done.
