But what is NOLA like during the autumn months. I know obviously that it will warmer than other regions of the US; but do you get the same kind of fall foliage and is it wetter during those months?

Nope, not really. There's about a month of spring and a month of fall with the rest of the time being winter and summer. We rarely ever get snow but heat and humidity comes in gobs and lasts for months.

It is HOT. And humid. Today was particularly yucky out. And it will stay this way until about the end of October.

Sounds like Phoenix. But we're mostly summer. It's hot from mid-May to the end of October. It is a dry heat, as they say, but not in the summer months.

My favorite time there where weather's concerned, is October. I like better than April, which the time we usually go. It's still quite warm but definitely cooling down from summer. I just love it.

Never noticed fall foliage colors, though.

April means the beginning of the hurricane season. October is better.

I was under the impression that hurricane season was June through September, with late hurricanes possible through October.

lol. It is. But April means anticipation of hurricanes coming soon and that we will soon have to prep for it. October means they're over for a while and so is the incredibly intense heat and humidity. It's rare to see a hurricane in October.

Before I moved here, spring was my favorite season. Not anymore. Spring just heralds the beginning of hurricane season.

As bad as it may seem, at this point i would rather look forward to hurricane season than another Minnesota winter. Last years' 50 straight days of below 0 highs kinda made me bitter. Plus it didn't stop snowing until april, which I guess is better than when it didnt stop snowing until mid may. Now I kinda look forward to what I lovingly refer to as "Ball soup heat".

I love October here.
Still warm, but not too hot.
Lower humidity.

BTW, we canceled hurricane season this year in honor of "climate change."
