norb123, final move and hawaii4evr you've given me some pretty cool choices and places to explore. I can see some nearby visits to the river and drives further away to the Florida panhandle beaches. It's all good!

Louisiana doesn't have beaches because it is swamp land.

I love the time I spent in your city and I loved the city, the architecture, flora, streetcars, romantic atmosphere, the heat and the friendliness of the people. It is because of these things that I have decided to move there and make a new home.
You loved the heat? What time of the year were you in NO back in 2009 ?

WhoDatinMD it was in late September, but keep in mind I'm from Chicago where it's usually mild to warm at that time of year not hot as in the 90's. I couldn't believe how hot it was and the humidity was high too. I'm tired of being cold and that's one reason why I'm moving south.

Once you spend a Whole summer here you might feel a little different. Also, it's amazing how cold the 30's can be down here. The spring and fall make it all worth it though.
