Again, I was speaking for the people who visiting for the first time. I agree it was busy and the weather was nice. Again, routes I'm talking about are city routes not entering the metro region routes. Crazy how certain parts of the city is still fawked up 10 years after Katrina. I was surprised that bridge entering th metro area still hasn't been fixed. Btw, I'm not trolling. I spent plenty of money at mom and pop restaurants (Daisy Dukes and Market Cafe) there this past weekend

I know you want to bait me into a debate but I'm not going to do it on here If you like you can post that in the city vs city forum.

I'm out!

I'm not trying to debate you. Stay in Atlanta if you don't like N.O. It's not for everyone. In my opinion, even the f,d up parts are way better than Atlanta.

BTW, the bridge from Slidell into the city is pretty much brand new. Which bridge are you talking about that is not fixed?

I agree. I lived in Atlanta for 15 years. City is much different than NO. Not necessarily better or worse. Just different.

That sucks for you. I've lived here since 2012 and I still have plenty to do on my list. Sorry if you came here expecting it to be like the rest of the US (middle income housing etc etc). This city wasn't really built on that ... but there is certainly a middle class here despite its old architecture.

But my big head scratcher is that you came here and it seems like your visits focused on what happened to the poor in Katrina, and you're sad because you didn't notice anything besides income inequality? What exactly were you expecting? Also - give us a break, over 100,000 housing units were damaged or destroyed in the storm. No other city has had such a catastrophe happen in recent history to the extent we have. Hurricane Sandy didn't even register as HALF of the damage that was done during Katrina. Katrina was the most costly natural disaster in this countries history - by far. In fact, it is the second most costly disaster in WORLD history (behind the 2011 tsunami in Japan). It's getting much, much better than it was.

I'm sure that you could be pointed in a direction to your liking. I'd suggest taking a flight in next time, getting a shuttle from the taxi to your hotel room, and use the public transportation (or rent a bike) and explore by yourself. If you'd do that, and ask this forum *before* you come, we could point you to a million different things to do, tailored to what you want to do and see. I've traveled to many cities across the country and have always found the tour groups to be the worst form of tourism.

But like a post above me says, it isn't for everybody. However, one thing this city isn't, is boring.

Also, what bridge are you talking about? There's only a few bridges in and out of New Orleans and always has been. I-10 on both sides are fine, the GNO (downtown bridge) is certainly running fine, and so is Causeway. The Huey P Long was just redone - finished last year. I've driven over all of these and haven't noticed any deficiencies in them.
