Does anybody know if they helped the family of the kid that this happened to last year? I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't.

Update:
Organizers reach fundraising goal for slain New Orleans father, delivery driver | New Orleans - WDSU Home

At least we have people here that try to make things as right as they can be.

That is awesome. Whenever someone from out of town asks me what makes New Orleans a great city, the first thing I say is the people that live here.

This town will get together peacefully for just about anything. Idk if it's the nature of the city or just because a lot of philanthropists flocked here after Katrina, but it's a special place with a lot of really good people. It's just sad such careless monsters give us all a worse name than we deserve.

Agreed about the few monsters giving us a bad name, but even before Katrina the people here were always down to earth and looked after their neighbors. That is what made me move back here when I had several other options, and I don't regret it.

You're right. I've made a few friends from here before moving, and they were always the easiest people to be around. I could always pick out a New Orleanian by the accent. That long A they use. It used to frustrate me that they all wanted to go back to New Orleans like they miss a family member or best friend or something. They were good friends but I always lost them to New Orleans. I never used to get why they were so attached but now I do.

But I think the philanthropy can't hurt and may be adding to it

Domino's did help out the family of the last driver (Richard "Chris" Yeager). They actually did a little more as a company because they dedicated half of a full week's proceeds as opposed to a partial week's this time. One of the executives did add $2,000 of his own money to the reward this time. Just glad the guy was caught.
