Later this year me and my family will be moving from western lincoln park (closer to Ashland) to a more affordable and diverse neighborhood. So far these have been the main three we are considering given their housing costs and accessibility to the rest of the city and loop. Specifically around kimball or kedzie (Albany park), Morse between Jarvis east of Clark (preferably morse in rogers park) and in bridgeport it's still a toss up because we are not very familiar with the area. The cheapest housing has been just west of halsted around lituanica closer toward 31st street. How is that pocket because I've heard varying opinions? I know that each has their benefits and draw backs but what would you deem most "safe" especially for a high school age younger sister who will be commuting to school everyday. I just want to specify that by safety I mean actual acts of crime rather than people just outwardly appearing a certain way. Your feedback is greatly appreciated

Today I learned that New Orleans has many neighborhoods and street names that are identical to neighborhoods and street names in Chicago.

LOL. I was reading through the thread and thought that it somehow mixed my Chicago Suburbs posts with my New Orleans posts.

I would not recommend any of those maybe for the exception of Rogers Park. Bridgeport is so industrialized, and I haven't heard anything good about Albany Park.

No suburbs on the list???
