I need major help, I need to get insurance on my '99 Hyundai Accent GL. I will be 17 in October and I'm looking for the cheapest insurance possible. The only quote that I got was from Progressive for $565.84 a month. I know it will be up there but I need help finding other options at what I can get for what. I also forgot to mention, I'm looking for the most basic insurance since that will save me the most money.
Thanks!,
William

Ouch! On a '99 Hyundai? I can't help you, but if you find something cheap let me know. My daughter wants to find a better price also. This is probably my biggest complaint about NOLA. Car insurance down here is ridiculous.

For a car that old, I would only get the bare minimum that the law requires.

I have an '09 Nissan Versa, paid off, no prior accidents and I pay about that much. Driving in Louisiana sucks. There was an article circling the local news feeds today about how we have the highest rates in the nation.

Wow! I'm assuming that's because of your age, maybe it will go down some when you turn 18 and then again at 21.

Usually you would be on your parents policy at this age. I assume they are out of the picture?

That's insane.......especially if it is just for liability....over the course of the year.....you'd be paying more for insurance than the car is worth!!!!

Yeah, my mom doesn't drive, and my dad lives in Alabama.

Can't he put you on his insurance? Have him say you live with him.
