Hi,

I am planning to visit New Orleans in December 2015. I plan to visit French Quarters and WW museum etc. I am considering not to rent a car since I will be there for only few 2 days but my main concern is how to get from the Armstrong Airport to the French Quarters.

I love Uber but seems like UberX is not available in New Orleans.

How much does a Taxi cost from Airport to French Quarters? and what are my options

Do you need UberX? Isn't that the fancy ones?

UberX are the cheap ones where the person pick up the ride in their own car. I believe I can just take a normal cab and it will be like $40

UberX can get you to the airport but is not yet available to pick up from the airport (I'm a driver). The normal cab fare is $36 from the airport to the CBD (downtown area). Uberx will actually be a little cheaper to get back to the airport because the standard airport fare was recently raised and Uber hasn't adjusted yet (as of a few weeks ago).

I thought uber x was the town car/step up from regular uber.

Uberx/XL: 4/6 passengers, non-"professional" driver, no chauffeur's license. Personal vehicle

UberBLACK/SUV: 4/6 passenger, town car for the 4 pax, professional driver, commercial plates

Your hotel may have a free shuttle bus or it may cost around $12, cheaper than Uber.
