When was that trial????? Didn't happen
Yeah I was going to say.

Read any unbiased biography of Davis.

While imprisoned he was practically screaming to be put on trial, he appealed and appealed for it. Instead, Johnson's administration just...let him go free.

One of the first places I ever saw when I visited New Orleans, 5 years ago, was the Lee Circle. It would be the worst of shames to tear it town.

You are right.

All the flags they wave are misrepresented in some ways due to conflicting ideologies.

I always wanted to ask the KKK why do you wave a swastika flag? NAZIs were radial tyrants. I am sure some KKK members have family members with genetic disorders, such as Down Syndrome or terminally ill children. A Nazi had to slaughter those who were not healthy. I never heard of KKK members exterminating the terminally ill, mentally, and physically disabled whites. I don't think I am reaching here, just pointing out some elements are applied and others are left out for their own personal need which is a misrepresentation. If exterminating those born with disorders is wrong, why kill anyone for something they simply cannot help such as skin color.

I rather the confederate statues be blow to pieces putting them in a museum is the best case scenario.

Apparently, that statue might be there to stay.

'Death threats,' 'threatening calls' prompt firm tasked with removing Confederate monuments to quit | The Advocate — Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Death threats prompted the firm in charge of removing the statue to back off. If it were me and I was being faced with that threat, this is how I would handle it. I would ignore the threat, hire body guards to protect the workers removing the statue.

Or , everybody could just move on to more important things and stop being " offended " by everything that doesn't fit their agenda . Adolph Hitler owned Mercedes Benz automobiles . Why is their no outcry to rename the Superdome ? Yes , it really is that silly .

Actually, Mercedes Benz pre-dates Hitler. He only drove in them.

Robert E Lee was a traitor. He swore an oath to protect the USA. He turned against the USA to fight for an enemy combatant. According to the Constitution, that is treason.

And furthermore, the desire to keep slavery was a giant part of this. The CSA wanted to keep slavery so much, and feared Lincoln much, that they wanted secession.

For this, I say that whoever is offended by the statue of Lee and Lee Circle, good for them. I don't blame them. I want it removed too.

Hitler owning a car is different from Lee being a traitor.

Yeah that logic doesn't make sense at all. Jackson ate bread too but we're not protesting eating bread.

Or perhaps this is about the bottom line. Lee is a traitor. Period. The Confederate cause is an ugly cause.
