For that price, you should be able to find a nice 1 BR in the Warehouse District in a building with security. However, you may want to re-think using public transportation to get to City Hall if safety is a concern. Have you visited the area?

I haven't visited the area. I was thinking of staying in Georgian Apartments on St. Charles and using the street car and then walk from St. Charles & Perdido to city hall. Is this safe ?
Problem is that I can't drive so I need to stay either in the walking distance of office or need to use public transport from home to work. Can you please suggest some good names in warehouse district?

Thanks

No specific suggestions, but $1200 for a 1 BR puts you in the upper end of the market in NO. Living on the street car line would be convenient for someone that doesn’t drive. The city has a lot of crime, so I couldn’t say that the walk to City Hall would be safe.
