IT Jobs in New Orleans (Atlanta: place to live, law, oil)

Hi,

I am relocating to New Orleans from Atlanta and am a technical quality assurance analyst. The IT industry in New Orleans is rather bleak and am looking for anyone that may have some leads. I can work as a QA analyst or business analyst. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

I did relocate here from Atlanta and I work in IT.
New Orleans is a hard place to land a job like that...if anything it's more of a admin, support role roles that are available here.

You could try Cox Communications, they have an office off Airline Dr. in Metarie.
Most places downtown New Orleans are law firms. Shell Oil does have an office, Freeport-McMoRAN and Chevron all do as well.

I hope you do find something here though, the job situation is much harder than in Atlanta overall, but it is IMHO a wonderful place to live, have fun, make friends (and sit in less traffic, a la Atlanta)

Check some of the local IT firms. The Louisiana Technology Council maintains a directory (http://www.ltc-la.org/en/directories/search.asp - broken link) of members. Not all of them are IT companies but most of them have some type of need for IT. Also, note that not every IT company is listed, only those that decide to pay the membership fee so just be aware there are more than what is listed there.
