I want to order a King Cake to be delivered in time for a Mardi Gras dinner next Sunday (2/26). Lots of hits when I search for King Cake delivery.

Do any of you New Orleans residents have a specific recommendation for a King Cake delivery? Appreciate it very much!

Haydel's or Randazzo's are two local bakeries that ship I believe.

I would recommend Randazzo's. My mom usually orders a couple of King Cakes for them to ship to me each year during this time. They'll also include some Mardi Gras beads, a mask, and coffee with each King Cake.

Wegman's has King Cakes (in Virginia). Maybe not from a genuine NO bakery, but wouldn't cost $$$$ to purchase and ship from NO.

^ Thanks for the info. I'll check if the ones around me in MD have any. It's worth a look.

I had one from Sucre last weekend that was really good, and I think they ship. My favorite is Haydel's with the cream cheese. After trying them from many different places, I'm surprised at how different they all taste. When I first moved here I thought it would be similar no matter where you got it. I think the grocery stores are all similar, with lots of cinnamon, but the local bakeries are all different.

If I send someone a King Cake, I order it from Gambino's.

I ordered one from Rouses's a few years ago with cream cheese and blueberry filling. While it certainly tasted good it did draw moisture during shipment, so it was soggy. I would order one again but perhaps a more traditional one.

I've heard that Sucre' makes good ones.

Someone in my office ordered one of those cakes and it was awful- nasty chemical taste. Hope your turns out better.
