We plan to come down in September to watch the Saints/Patriots game and spend a few days sightseeing. We've never been to NOLA, so any ideas on where to stay closer to the stadium or sights would be appreciated. Somewhere safe, but in a good location for walking.
We're thinking a swamp tour would be fun and a brewery tour too. Any other suggestions on things to do or see would be welcome. Stadium tips welcome also.

Cheers!

You could try the Ace hotel at 600 Carondolet. It's new and a short walk up Poydras to the dome. I took my daughter to their rooftop pool to swim and get some lunch the other day. Really cool place.

The Hyatt and Le Pavillion are nice hotels pretty close to the stadium. The downtown area and French quarter are very walkable in general. Definitely make sure and eat at some of our great restaurants.
