Hi,
I am coming to your fair city for Jazz Fest and am wondering what the best options are for ground transportation to/from the airport to my AirBnB in the Marigny. Dauphine & Mandeville. Will be arriving evening on Wed. and leaving early Mon.
I did a search for threads here, but things have probably changed since 2014, so thought I'd ask.
Thanks.

A cab or Uber would be the fastest and easiest for where you're going. It should be <$40.

You can do it via bus, but you'll have a long bus ride with lots of stops and you'll have to transfer downtown to catch the St. Claude bus. If you're arriving at night, the airport bus (E2) only runs to Carrollton, so you'll have an additional transfer to the Tulane Ave. bus just to get downtown.

There is a new airport express bus line, but it only runs a few times a day and will only get you downtown. You'll still have to transfer over to St. Claude.http://www.norta.com/RTA/media/RTA-P.../route_202.pdf

Uber or Lyft from airport to Marigny.

From Marigny to Jazz Fest take the Rampart Streetcar line to Canal St. Transfer to Canal Streetcar line (City Park spur). At City Park the walk is around 5 blocks, follow the crowd. You will not be able to get a taxi, uber, or lyft from the Fairgrounds after Jazz Fest is over (unless you want to wait 3 hours) so take the Canal Streetcar line back to Rampart then transfer and get off at Esplanade.

Thanks for the responses. Is there a certain taxi service that is better than others? Is there one I should avoid at all costs?

I would use Lyft vs. any taxi service. Many taxi services in New Orleans either don't have A/C, are dirty, or have drivers who aren't too friendly.

Just make sure that your driver knows where the Hell he or she is going in the Marigny because - I kid you not! - 3 times now we've had drivers that could not find our guest house, and it's just right outside the Quarters.
