When I first left home in '76 I moved to New Orleans. I loved it! I worked at the Howard Johnson's on Old Gentilly Rd. at night and swam in the ship channel in the day. On Fri. & Sat. nights I would walk along the streets of the Quarter and walk into any bar, not knowing what it was. One night I walked into a place called 'Pete's' and noticed there were no women there. All the guys there were good-looking tho. It finally dawned on me what kind of place it was. I finished my drink and went along my merry way. I just did a search of gay bars in the Quarter and couldn't find a mention of Pete's. Is it still there? Not necessarily bi-curious, just curious.

I clicked on this wondering if you meant clarinet player Pete Fountain's club. That was on Bourbon Street in the early Sixties, when I was a kid living there and going to school. Do you remember what street this "Pete's" was on?
