Got alert from Entergy no lights until 10 pm. So much flooding couldn’t get to work this morning. The heat is too much for me so I’m going to family but I’m really over this new lifestyle of constant flooding & power outages. It really increases my anxiety because I can’t drive through water in my small sedan and RUDE people speed by pushing water in cars, homes etc. I’m really really down and tired of this. How are you guys making out?

1. Buy a home that is elevated.
2. Live close to work so you can take a streetcar or walk to work.
3. Work from home
4. Take a vacation to a beach like Destin or someplace cool during July/August.

I can't blame you for thinking of moving on, at some point we are going to stop throwing tax payer money at an endless situation...Good luck.

Flooding and hurricanes are risks of living in New Orleans and in Louisiana. It's just the nature of its geographic location and climate. You are located near a giant body of water in the Gulf.. so what else would you expect? Moving on might be a great idea. I have also been thinking about that for a while, too.

Lived here throughout 70’s & 80’s & this wasn’t the norm. I’m sick of corrupt officials that aren’t doing right by this city. Be safe everyone.

Not to worry, it doesn't flood anywhere else outside of New Orleans

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floods...2%80%93present

If 10" of rainfall happens in 4hrs, you will be standing in water pretty much anywhere.

If you are going to live in New Orleans you will find that flooding and power outages will be regular occurrences.

But at least Mitch got rid of those statues instead of spending money on fighting the flooding, right?

Live at a higher elevation, and PREPARE! Like any coastal region, there are drawbacks to being so close to the water.
I feel your pain.
