I have yet to visit, but I get very good vibes from this city.

I'm really bored with where I live now, and I want to move somewhere where the action is. I work in IT. I'm looking to live in a place with good weather, nightlife and a laid back culture that is easy to meet people and make friends. Politically I'm right wing. I also find my city's culture very stuck up and would like to live somewhere that doesn't judge. Your thoughts?

Yep, New Orleans would be a good fit I would think. I was stationed there in the Coast Guard in my 20's and had a blast. Made many friends there. I lived in Metairie. I don't know what your idea of "good weather" is, but NOLA is miserably hot & humid in the summer and gets tropical cyclones frequently so be prepared for that. I lean right politically as well, and wasn't an issue for me. I would think IT jobs would be plentiful.

I wouldn't call New Orleans weather good really, its incredibly humid and hot but you might love that. There aren't many IT jobs compared to other larger cities and most of the 20 something year olds going out in New Orleans will lean left. New Orleans is a liberal city surrounded by red.

I'd live in New Orleans, if I could.

I've been to music festivals in June, and yes, its REALLY really humid. But that's why God made air conditioning, right? LOL

My main complaint about New Orleans is, as a female, I don't know how to keep makeup on my face there. It all sweats away.

Will you tolerate the Summers? Other than that, why would you wonder if the city is good for a man? Do you want to live in the city proper? Lots of new condos along the river.

+ 100 on all three of these points. Also, OP, if you lean right you find the way the city does things to be incredibly frustrating, not to say stupid.
