So sad this was once a relatively safe area because of tourism.

We no longer visit on Thanksgiving week due to the increased amount of violence that comes in with the Bayou Classic.

And City Hall is spending money and engaging in fights to take down statues Talk about priorities.

Moving on, I hope that everyone survives (two were critical last I read) and that this issue gets under control!

Sad for the city. Usually lads on the streets at 3AM are solid citizens just enjoying the sights.

2005 wife and I Stayed at the Crowne where I proposed to her on her birthday. We’re not going back unless they put down this level of crime in New Orleans. We were considering a return for our 20th anniversary.

Very little follow up this morning on any of the major news pages.

Isn't 10 people shot at random a mass shooting?

Plenty of coverage about Starbucks latest drink offering though......

If I go to N.O. it'll be for the Essence Festival or for an art trip.

Got an offer of free tickets for the upcoming Colts & Saints game on Monday night, turned it down due to security concerns.

No protection since they search us upon entry into the stadium... so I would be left escorting my friends down the streets of New Orleans at night with nothing to defend myself with.

These low lifes are still on the streets and could rob us or worse

This is normal for New Orleans. Not sure why this is even news.
